BIO :: Soren Caffey, MD,FACP

After scoring triple 9 in the Stanford test, Soren was accepted to the "Center for the Gifted and Talented" as a child. He then consistently ranked in the top 3 of his class and obtained a diploma in Physics & Mathematics a year younger than his classmates.

Years later he graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) from medical school. He then went on to finish his internship and residency in Medicine and obtained his graduation diploma from one of the affiliates of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Being fascinated by cancer and blood medicine, he decided to pursue advanced sub-specialty training in Hematology and Medical Oncology. He completed his sub-specialty training in both Hematology and Oncology and graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Medical Specialties and a member of different professional organizations such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. He has also been honored and elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Caffey serves as the Chairman of Inova MVH cancer committee and is a member of the Inova Breast Cancer Institute. He is also named in Consumers' Research Council guide as one of the " America's Top Oncologists" and is a recipient of "Patient's Choice Award", “most compassionate doctor award”, and "America’s most honored professionals award”, among others.

He has also been honored and elected as "Washingtonian Top Doc" and "Northern Virginia Top Doc" by his peers.

Dr. Caffey is the president of NovaCure Consultants, PC in the DC Metro Region, where he is primarily involved in treating and caring for patients with cancer and complex blood disorders.

He enjoys Phillosophy, Classical music, Arts & Design, History and sports.
